Como era costumbre, cuando terminaban los actos religiosos con motivo del fallecimiento de un monarca, seguidamente comenzaban las fiestas, al son de tambores y clarines, vivando al nuevo rey. Luego de varios actos, y como fin de fiesta, el alférez real arrojaba al pueblo monedas y medallas. Estas eran hechas ex-profeso con motivo de la proclamación real, y generalmente llevaban la efigie del monarca.
En Asunción, en aquella oportunidad, se fundieron cantidades limitadas de juras o proclamaciones, y hoy día, ya es una pieza sumamente rara y cotizada.

TO THE THRONE OF CARLOS IV
As it was customary, when the religious acts for the death of the monarch finished, the festivities began at the beat of drums and the sound of clarinets, acclaiming and cheering for the new king. After these acts, and as a closure for the festivities, the royal ensign would toss to the crowd coins and medals. These coins and medals were made only for this special occasion - the royal proclamation - and they generally carried the monarch's effigy.
In Asuncion, on that opportunity, they melted limited quantities of proclamations, and today, this is a very rare and high quoted piece.
